TeleHealth

Family Therapy Associates was certified by the state of Wisconsin in 2019 to perform telehealth services. We utilize a secure, HIPAA compliant software to protect your confidentiality during telehealth appointments.  All of our therapists are trained to offer therapy services through telehealth.

Telehealth appointments can be accessed through a secure link emailed prior to the appointment. You may use a smartphone, tablet, or computer for your appointment. If you do not have access to the internet, some insurances also allow services to occur by phone. In the rare instance you have a technical difficulty during the session, your therapist will call you to continue the session by phone.

Telehealth services have a wide range of benefits, including increasing access to quality mental health services in rural areas or for those who can’t easily leave home due to illness, mobility limitations, or mental health conditions.

Sessions are approximately 50 minutes in length. Most insurance policies now cover telehealth for mental health services. A discounted cash rate is available if paid on the same day of service. Most major credit cards are accepted.

Please note that, due to state licensing laws, this service through Family Therapy Associates is available only to people physically located in the state of Wisconsin or in some cases, Minnesota. This service is not appropriate for someone who is dealing with active suicidal thoughts. For needs such as this, please contact local emergency services if there is imminent risk or schedule an in-office appointment for further assessment and recommendations.

These are challenging times for everyone. We are here to support. Schedule a telehealth appointment today.

Clinical Supervisor
Areas of Focus:  Women & Teens

My approach focuses on meeting each person where they are at in the healing process and tailoring treatment to individual, cultural, and spiritual needs.

I have extensive experience working with adolescents with issues including: trauma, anxiety, depression, emotional regulation, self-esteem, chemical dependency, grief/loss, identity development, anger/acting out behaviors, parental discord/divorce, interpersonal relationships, and self-harming behaviors.

My skills include supporting women to effectively cope with relationship challenges, anxiety, depression, life transitions, and general life stressors. I enjoy helping others build mindfulness skills to allow them to change their relationship to their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. I believe the heart of change lies in our relationships and seek to provide the healing relationship necessary to support my clients in creating lasting changes.

I believe that healing is a realistic and attainable goal, regardless of the set of challenges we are faced with. We all have the capacity to change.

I am skilled in helping clients who are struggling to effectively process their emotions related to drug and alcohol use, death, developing and maintaining healthy relationships, the nuances of living in blended families, and the stressors and complexities of everyday life.

Other specialties include helping clients effectively respond to challenges associated with depression, anxiety, shame, and the impact of sudden life changes.

I enjoy helping adults and adolescents discover their inherent strengths as they seek healing and positive change in their life.  Through an integrative, strength-based, and person-centered approach, I support individuals experiencing the impact of life-changing events such as chronic or terminal illness, trauma, caregiver burnout, postpartum or parenting issues, peer issues, and professional or school-related stress.

I have extensive experience in mindfulness-based practices and helping individuals find meaning in their present struggles.  Other areas of focus include anxiety, depression, emotional dysregulation, grief and loss, women’s issues, identity, and spiritual exploration.

I believe the essence of therapy is to provide a safe, compassionate, and comfortable place for clients to express themselves without judgment. Within the therapeutic relationship, I believe the therapist acts as a guide to help their clients increase self-awareness, self-confidence, and personal understanding so they feel comfortable making choices that will help them live a healthier, happier life.

I have experience working with adolescents and adults living with the effects of anxiety, severe and persistent mental illness, trauma, substance use,  personality disorders, criminal thinking and behavior, legal issues, incarceration, probation, and a history of sex offenses.

Areas of Focus:  Women, Couples, & Families

I am passionate about helping others navigate relationships and life changes by honing in on strengths and resources.  With an understanding of the role of context and societal factors, I seek to empower individuals, couples, and families to take an active role in achieving and maintaining holistic wellbeing through strengths-based and solution-focused therapies.  As a dance and yoga instructor, I am also a believer in the power of expression, art, and movement as a healing modality.

Areas of particular interest for me are those involving self-esteem, self-worth, body dysmorphia, body image, and eating disorders. I am also passionate about working with marginalized populations, including members of the LGBTQ+ community.

I am under the supervision of Jessica Stiteley, MS, LMFT.
