Family Therapy Associates, LLC now offers comprehensive telepsychiatry and psychiatric medication management services as part of our specialty mental health programs. We are excited to partner with Dr. Himanshu Agrawal, MD, DF-APA to offer psychiatric and medication management services.

Services may include:

• ADHD support
• Anxiety and depression treatment
• Bipolar disorder treatment
• Trauma-informed psychiatric care
• Child and adolescent psychiatry
• Medication management
• Ongoing psychiatric follow-up visits
• Coordination with therapists and other providers when appropriate

A Collaborative Approach to Medication
Many people worry that seeing a psychiatrist means they will automatically be prescribed medication. That is not the case.

Dr. Agrawal believes in shared decision-making and the Biopsychosocial model of care, recognizing that mental health is influenced by biological, psychological, and social factors. Treatment recommendations may include therapy, lifestyle changes, coping strategies, community support, medication, or a combination of approaches.

If medication is considered, clients can expect:

• Clear education about options, benefits, and risks
• Thoughtful discussion before starting treatment
• Conservative, individualized medication management
• Slow and careful dose adjustments when needed
• Ongoing review of whether medication is helping meet treatment goals

You remain an active participant in every treatment decision.

I am a Distinguished Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association and a board-certified psychiatrist in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry and Adult Psychiatry. I bring extensive experience as a psychoanalyst and psychotherapist, allowing me to look beyond diagnoses and focus on the whole person.

My approach is simple: I work with you to understand what’s getting in the way of your life—and help you move forward. Treatment is always collaborative and tailored to your goals, and may or may not include medication.

For children, I provide thoughtful, developmentally informed care to support emotional growth, reduce behavioral challenges, and build resilience early in life.

For adolescents, I help teens navigate the complexities of growing up—whether that’s anxiety, mood changes, identity, or relationships—while supporting both independence and stability.

For adults, I offer personalized, evidence-based care focused on improving day-to-day functioning, relationships, and overall well-being.
