Home-Based Counseling
Home-Based Therapy
This service provides support for families, couples and children in the privacy of their own home to create the changes that they want to see. Services are provided by a licensed mental health therapist and include family therapy, marriage therapy and/or relationship counseling, child therapy and life transition(s) as well as issues related to grief and loss. This service may also be appropriate for clients who require special accommodations due to specific concerns, such as medical concerns, that prevent them from meeting in an office setting. Although this therapy may be covered by insurance, additional travel fees may apply.
Home-Based Parenting Intervention
This service is directed to parents of struggling youth who are at-risk of being placed outside of their home or who are already in placement and vulnerable to decompensation upon return. This type of in-home therapy is not direct mental health treatment, but rather an approach utilizing systemic interventions, parenting education and behavior modification techniques that encourage structure, predictability and necessary safety for at-risk youth to be successful. This service may be appropriate when other services have been tried but have not yielded a desired result and/or a family is willing but unable to attend in-office appointments. Although this service is not typically covered by insurance, additional payment options may be available.
Intensive In-Home Treatment
This service provides 4-8 hours of support per week (upon insurance approval) to families struggling with intense or aggressive behaviors in the home due to trauma, reactive attachment disorder or a child is at risk of out of home placement. A combination of parenting support, systemic interventions and behavior modification as well as frustration management techniques are utilized in this intervention. These services may be available through county funding or may be covered by some insurances including Medical Assistance. Please note that intensive in-home therapy is not a covered service for any autism spectrum diagnosis or developmental disability diagnosis through Medicaid.
